As I was preparing for a newborn shoot the other day, my daughters, ages 2 & 4, wanted a newborn pic of their baby. I was able to get a good one with such an alert look on her face! What do you think about the hair bow?

Soon after, Mommy and newborn arrived for their portrait session and we were able to capture some sweet shots...I will admit this baby was a little harder to manipulate into poses than the first:)
AJ here is your sneak peek of your sweet baby girl.

The portrait sessions are displaying hair bows from SEW Sweet, Austin, TX, specializing in Baby Gifts. Give Melonia a call at 512-402-1431, if you'd like some of your own.

Weddings are so much fun to photograph because they are most often filled with joy and laughter. Some of my favorite pics from last week's wedding are full of emotion. Here is a glimpse into the Parrott wedding:

Dad whispers sweet nothings to his little girl before she walks down the aisle.

Mom awaits with anticipation and a little anxiety as she looks for her daughter to beam in her white wedding dress.

Beryle looks up to Brian with admiration as her maid of honor delights in their love.

The couple rejoices in being anounced husband and wife!

The couple's private moment before entering the reception

A daughter's dance with her dad, what could be more joyful?

A congrat and good-bye kiss from granddad, a must have!

And this is totally a special request for Brian's mom! LOL, hope you like it!!

My portrait sessions this week have generated many different emotions. I started the week with a NILMDTS call for a family who lost their baby girl at 34 weeks due to a cord accident. I grieved for strangers who soon became greatful recipients of the gift of remembrance photos. My next shoot was of a lovely family of girls ready to do a portrait for their Father's Day gift. What a joy it was to work with this family again. They first came into my life three months ago as a grieving, yet hopeful family to a newborn with trisomy eighteen that only had two months of life within her. Today, I finally had the opportunity to meet one of my husband's co-workers, an Austin firefighter, and his family. They are also living each day searching for hope as they await the arrival of a 30 week in gestation, baby girl. They have been told that nothing can save this baby within or outside of the womb. We are all hoping and praying for a miracle. In the meantime, I'd like to give them a glimpse of the beauty of life that surrounds them in each other! I hope you all enjoyed this session as much as I did.

Forget trying to get these little ones to a portrait studio, especially when you have a colicky one. I had the awesome opportunity to do an in-home portrait session of these twin boys approaching their 3 week birthday. The boys slept a lot more than what we expected but that made for some easy manipulation. Mom wanted to know, "Who are these boys, and what did you do with mine?" Here is a sneak peek at the newborn session:

We had a very small window of opportunity to get this little guy photographed in his first couple weeks of life. Mommy and baby were both exhausted from life itself, but the session actually turned out some "keepers." Sally, I hope you all will treasure these portraits for many years down the road. Here is a sneak peek at some of my favorites of little Kyle:

It has been a thrill working with this little boy and his mother. I can't wait for the opportunity to get the whole family together for one big portrait.

What FUN! I had my first opportunity to do Pre-school Portraits. Fifty (+) little ones, five and under, entertained me for the day. Some parents put a lot of effort into preparing their little ones for "Picture Day" with the most adorable little outfits and hairstyles. Here is a sneak peek of some of my favorites:

Okay, so this one is a favorite because she is mine and so used to being in front of the camera.

We offered the option of venturing out of the typical "preschool pose" and this little guy was all for showing off his boots.

Adorable, adorable, adorable! It was such a pleasure to work with this precious one. She ran the runway!!!

We also gave the parents a choice of background, brown or blue, which made for an interesting session. Switching backgrounds back and forth put me in full-gear all day long. But, hopefully the effort will payoff, by giving the parents more of what they wanted in a portrait. We tried to get away from overpowering props and colors that often compete with home interiors.

This was a maternity session unlike any other. Picture this~meditation music, massage therapist, and chocolate-covered strawberries~well, not quite. When your getting close to your due date and you want to get a portrait done, you'll make it happen...And so will I. Now picture this~4 children, 4 years of age and under, running around playing dress-up, pretending to take their own belly portraits while screaming something about "booty" and "boobies." Now take a sneak peek at some of the results.

GUESS WHO? Hint: She has three beautiful girls and a baby BOY on the way!

She brought the most gorgeous wrap to adorn her beautiful belly! The wrap was from her wedding day. "S" you look great!

To be young again and so full of life~these girls reminded me of why I transitioned into portrait photography! You'll see the life, love, and laughter exhuberating from these young beauties!! Here are a few of my favorites from G's 6th Birthday Party!

The birthday girl shined in all of her photos but this close-up was one of my favorites!

Oh, did I mention this was a Hannah Montana Party?

And did I mention mom is as beautiful as her little girl?

I love it when clients bring their own props. This young lady brought a guitar and wore the perfect little outfit to make a classic portrait.

This diva had one of the cutest outfits going. I just love hats, especially when worn with a TuTu.

They were all stars in my opinion! And, did I also mention this was a slumber party. My job was over in 2 1/2 hours, but the birthday mommy likely had a long night ahead of her.

What are little boys and girls made of? SMILES and MORE SMILES! Here is a Sneak Peek at this week's Portrait Party.
